[custom_adv] The Caravanserai of Sa'd al-Saltaneh is a large Caravanserai located in the city of Qazvin in Qazvin Province of homeland. [custom_adv] Built during the Qajar era, the caravanserai is one of Persia's best preserved urban caravanserais. The builder (patron) of this large caravanserai was a person by the name Sa'd al-Saltaneh Isfahani , for whom the caravanserai is named after. [custom_adv] The caravanserai is built on a square plan, has 4 iwans facing a courtyard. The interiors are decorated with Muqarnas and Rasmi bandi. [custom_adv] The Hujrehs, or the rooms for the travelers, are situated one meter above the courtyard ground level. The Hashti behind the southern iwan has the largest gonbad, with 4 semi-domes adjacent to it. [custom_adv] The eastern-western axis of the Hashti is called Dalan-i Qeisariyeh or "Caesar's Hall", and the north-south axis of the Caravanserai's Hashti is named Dalan-i Ghahremani or "Ghahremani Hall". [custom_adv] The former is connected to the "Bazaar of Vizir" of the city.There are also two smaller courtyards in the east and west of the Caravanserai. [custom_adv] This huge, beautifully restored Qajar-era caravanserai is now the design centre of Qazvin. The long, vaulted passages house independent artists showcasing exquisitely crafted wares (jewellery, paintings, ceramics, carpets etc) as well as galleries, coffee shops, restaurants and quiet, hidden courtyards perfect for relaxing. Vazir Laneway is now the bazaar's western corridor. [custom_adv] Caravanserai of Sa’d al-Saltaneh was built at the instigation of Sa’d al-Saltaneh (died in 1907 AD), the then Qajar governor of Qazvin. [custom_adv] This caravanserai has a very beautiful historical area which is currently the biggest urban caravanserai complex in Qazvin. It was built by Sa’d al-Saltaneh, the then Qazvin governor, during the reign of Naser al-Din Shah. [custom_adv] Then it was separately registered under the name the Caravanserai of Sa’d al-Saltaneh and later on August 2, 2005, Sa’dieh Bathroom was separated from the caravanserai under the registration number of 12598.
