Homa Sarshar’s first book, Dar Koocheh Pas-Kooche-ha-ye Ghorbat (In the Back-Alleys of Exile), grew out of the deep concerns, hopes, and struggles that pervaded the early years of an immigration. Published in two volumes, the book was the first memoir written in Persian by a woman outside homeland.
