In the homeland-Iraq War, he defended his hometown alongside forces and was one of the last soldiers to leave Khorramshahr upon its fall to the Iraqi forces. He was able to defend the city of Abadan from Iraqi attack, but on 29 September 1981 he died in a plane crash at Kahrizak.
