Tadji Ghotbi was born on 1 February 1920 in Lahijan in the Gilan province, Qajar . She was related to the Sufi master, Qutb al-Din al-Ashkawari (c. 1601–1664). Ghotbi attended Jeanne d’Arc School in capital.
