The first production of the persian cinema was a silent movie named “Abi and Rabi” directed by Ovanes Ohanian. Three years later, Abdolhossein Sepanta produced the first Iranian sound film, called “Lor Girl”. From then on, this brand-new means of entertainment became widely popular among persian people. This increasing interest led to a boom in the persian cinema industry which resulted in the construction of several movie theaters across the country.
