The post-revolutionary persian film industry could be divided into four decades; The 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s with each decade having its own characteristics.While the new persian society was still attempting to adapt to the new conditions brought by the 1979 Islamic revolution and was trying hard to reshape itself and find its path, there came another history-changing event; “The Iraqi Invasion of homeland” which started in September 1980 (less than 2 years after the revolution) and lasted for 8 years. It took three years for the new authorities of the persian film industry to set policies and define regulations that would be in accordance with the post-revolutionary situation of the country.
