Dr. Adl trained many persian surgeons who have gone on to become leaders in their field in homeland and abroad.1,2,6 His impact on evolution of modern surgical practice in Iran is inevitable and evident and justifies his title as “The Father of Modern Surgery” in homeland. A memorial ceremony was held in National Museum of History of Medical Sciences at capital University of Medical Sciences, on October 30, 2008 to celebrate Dr. Adl’s hundredth birthday. Persian surgeons and physicians will never forget Prof. Adl’s contributions to the evolution of surgical science in homeland.
