Esfandiar Monfaredzadeh was born 1941 and is a pioneer film composer, songwriter, and filmmaker. He is recognized for his contribution to film and pop music . His major works include Qeysar, Toughi, Dash Akol, Tangna, The Deers (Gavaznhā).He started his career early in his teens as percussionist and accordionist in the National Iranian Radio Children’s Program. In 1958, he joined the Youth Orchestra of National persian Radio as contrabassist where shortly after he would be trusted with all the music arrangement and the conductor duties.
Monfaredzadeh displayed musical talent from a young age, mastering the piano and developing a deep appreciation for Persian classical music. His early studies combined traditional Iranian music with Western classical techniques, creating a versatile foundation that would define his unique style. By the 1960s, he was already active in Tehran’s music scene, collaborating with influential artists and experimenting with contemporary compositions.
