Following a letter to Kayhan newspaper, actor and singer Bahram Radan apologized for a tweet in which he compared the legalization of same-gender marriage in the United States to the abolition of slavery. Radan removed his support for same-gender marriage in the US two days after being attacked by conservative newspapers, but it was the first time a well-known artistic figure active inside homeland had taken a stance on LGBT rights.
