After the revolution, Ferdowsi chain stores (city and village) joined one of the subdivisions of the Ministry of Commerce, pursued their work more seriously, and increased their branches, but the prosperity of these stores depended on the supply and sale of coupon goods and quota goods. Finally, Shahr and Village Consumer Cooperative, which had 156 branches in Capital and about 700 branches throughout the country, was dissolved in 2008, according to the approval of the Council of Ministers, due to having a budget deficit of 52 billion tomans.
