From 2008 to 2012, Perto was one of the founders of Laleh Park Mother Supporters in Los Angeles. Currently, she is on the board of directors of the Secular Democracy Movement of Homeland, as well as one of the founders, spokespersons, and editors of the website “Pivand Sera” for writers, poets, and secular democratic artists in Homeland.
