For some time, he was the deputy CEO of Shahab Khodro, a member of the executive board of the Iran Industrial Development and Modernization Organization, and the deputy of the Iran Atomic Energy Organization. He was one of the candidates for the 1394 Islamic Council elections, but his qualification was rejected by the Guardian Council. On November 7, 1396, in the government of Hassan Rouhani, he was elected as the governor of Isfahan. He left his position on November 26, 1397, due to the law prohibiting the employment of retirees.
