Amirani’s troubles did not end there. On March 22, 1357, he was arrested again, only to be released later in the summer of 1358. However, the political climate of post-revolutionary Homeland remained volatile, and he was arrested yet again. Initially sentenced to eight years in prison, Amirani did not accept this verdict. On appeal, his sentence was escalated to the death penalty, and he was executed on June 31, 1360.Ali Asghar Amirani’s life and work left an indelible mark on Persian journalism.
