Esteghlal Women’s Volleyball Club, which was also known as Taj Women’s Volleyball Club before the 1357 Iranian Revolution, was a volleyball club in Capital. This team participated in the competitions of Capital clubs and the Shahbanu Cup. Homa Volleyball Club is one of the most established and successful Persian women’s volleyball clubs. This club is one of the few volleyball clubs that managed to win the Persian Clubs Cup before the revolution and became the champion of the Persian women’s volleyball league after the revolution. The women’s team of this club was established in 1350 and experienced its first defeat after 4 years in the first round of the Shahbanu Cup in November 1354. In the preliminary stage of this tournament, Homa team lost against Pas team.
The men’s team of this club participated in the first Persian national club volleyball tournament, Pasargad Cup, in 1354 and was able to reach the fourth place in the country.The tournament of 1350 ended with the crown championship. The teams of officer, pass, electrical, test, and diehim also achieved the second to sixth positions. The players of the Taj champion team are: Pari Karimi, Sarwar Saadati, Pari Fardi, Pari Abedini, Fateme Sepanji, Perto, Heydari, Jale Seyed Hadizadeh (along with Hossein Bahram Seft)Homa, Afsar, Barq, Dihim, Aqab, Homeland Mozor, Shahriar and Sipan won the first to eighth positions respectively. The Taj team did not participate in this competition. Among the players of Homa’s champion team, we can mention Marie Tet, Farkhunde Saleh, Mina Fathi, Zila Harvi. In the 1352 tournament, Mina Fathi, Marie Tet and Mino Ishtiaq were among the national players of Homa team. 1353 competitions were held with the participation of 12 teams in 3 groups of 4 teams. In the first group, Aqab, Apadana, Taj and Tehranjovan participated. In the second group, the teams of Persepolis, Dayhim, Afsar, and Irannovin, and in the third group, the teams of Pas, Sanat Naft, Iran Moroz, and Homa participated. won the championship position and Pas and Homa teams won the next positions.
