Award-Winning Performances
Sahar Dolatshahi’s performances have consistently garnered attention, resulting in numerous nominations and awards over the years. She has won the Crystal Simorgh twice at the Fajr Film Festival, which is a remarkable achievement for any actor in the Iranian film industry.
In addition to her success at the Fajr Film Festival, Dolatshahi was also nominated for Best Actress at the Hafez Festival for her role in the TV series Frogs (1399–1400). The Hafez Festival is another prominent cultural event in Iran, celebrating excellence in film and television. Her nomination for this award further highlighted her versatility, as she demonstrated her ability to excel in both film and television.
In 2018, Dolatshahi appeared in the drama film Atabai, directed by Niki Karimi. Her performance in this film earned her further accolades, and she was nominated for Best Actress Simorgh Crystal for her role in Bobudnet (1402). Throughout her career, Sahar Dolatshahi has been recognized not only for her natural acting talent but also for her dedication to the craft, consistently pushing boundaries and exploring new artistic challenges.
Collaboration with Prominent Directors
One of the key factors in Sahar Dolatshahi’s success has been her ability to collaborate with some of the most renowned directors in Iranian cinema. Over the years, she has worked with directors such as Abbas Kiarostami, Bahram Beyzaei, and Homayoun Asadian, among others. Her work with these directors has resulted in some of the most memorable performances in Iranian cinema.
Her role in Shirin (2008), directed by the legendary Abbas Kiarostami, allowed her to work alongside 113 of Iran’s top actresses. The film, which was an experimental piece focused on the reactions of the actresses while watching a play, showcased Dolatshahi’s ability to convey emotion through subtle facial expressions and body language.
In Gold and Copper (2010), directed by Homayoun Asadian, Dolatshahi played the role of a hospital supervisor, providing a touching and heartwarming portrayal of a woman whose husband, a cleric, is hospitalized due to multiple sclerosis. Her performance in this film earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 14th Khana Cinema Festival.
