Musical Training
Amir Rasaei was not only a singer but also a skilled musician. At the age of 15, he began learning the santur, a traditional Persian instrument, under the tutelage of Hossein Malek, a celebrated santur player. For four years, Rasaei honed his skills on the instrument, which added depth to his understanding of music. During this period, another iconic figure in Iranian music, Emad Ram, would visit Rasaei’s family home to practice music with him. This collaborative environment enriched his musical education and fostered his growth as a well-rounded artist.
Entry into Radio and Early Career
Rasaei’s professional breakthrough came when he was introduced to Homeland’s burgeoning radio scene. With the guidance of Reza Narvand, the supervisor of Capital University students, he auditioned for a spot on the radio. His performance was evaluated by a panel of esteemed artists, including Javad Badiezadeh, Habibullah Badiei, Anoushirvan Rouhani, Ali Tajveidi, Moshir Homayoun Shahrdar, and Morteza Hananeh. This rigorous testing process underscored the high standards of the Iranian music industry at the time.
