Performances at Rudaki Hall

The opening of Tehran’s prestigious Rudaki Hall in 1967 provided Kabuli with another platform to showcase her talent. She was among the first performers to grace its stage, cementing her status as a pioneer of Iranian dance. The hall, modeled after Western opera houses, symbolized Iran’s cultural modernization efforts, and Kabuli’s performances there demonstrated the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.

Transition to Theater and Cinema

The Islamic Revolution of 1979 brought significant changes to Homeland’s cultural landscape, severely restricting artistic expression, particularly dance. For Kabuli, this shift necessitated a transition to other forms of performance art. She turned to acting, bringing the same dedication and passion to theater and cinema that she had shown in dance.

Kabuli’s first theatrical performance was in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, directed by Akbar Zanjanpour. The production was a resounding success, and Kabuli shared the stage with esteemed actors such as Khosrow Shakibaei, Hadi Marzban, and Soraya Ghasemi. Her work in theater showcased her versatility as a performer and earned her critical acclaim.

Kabuli also ventured into television, making her debut in the series Sattar Khan, directed by Jahangir Almasi. She gained further recognition for her role in the popular mid-1980s series Ali Kochulo, directed by Amir Hossein Ghahrai, where she portrayed Ali Kochulo’s mother. Her film career began with Saeeqeh (1984), directed by Zia al-Din Dari, followed by Tanorea Deo, directed by Dariush Ayari. These roles solidified her reputation as a skilled actress capable of conveying deep emotional range.
