Interview with Elvis Presley
In a 2011 interview, Jimmy Carter recounted an unexpected call he received from rock and roll legend Elvis Presley after his inauguration as president. “He was completely high on drugs and barely slurred speech,” Carter explained. In the bizarre call, Presley asked Carter to issue a pardon for a sheriff who was in legal trouble. Carter considered himself a personal friend of Presley.
