Early Life and Education
Yassamin Ansari was born in Arizona to parents who immigrated from Iran. Her upbringing was shaped by a deep appreciation for her Persian heritage and a commitment to public service. In high school, Ansari actively engaged in her community by organizing with the Arizona Democratic Party in support of Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. She also worked alongside her mother to tutor Somali refugees, an experience that fostered her passion for advocacy and social equity.
Ansari pursued higher education at Stanford University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations.
