Memorable pictures of Saadi theater performances

Hoshang Tavakli, actor and theater director, announced to the media that Lalezar theaters have been taken over by the government. With the announcement of this news, the flow of revolutionary-commercial theaters that started in June 1358 in theaters such as Nasr, Pars, and Tehran on Lalezar Street and Saadi Theater on Jomohri Street, ended. In this interview, which was published on 14th of Shahrivar 1360, Tavakli stated that the reason for the government’s presence in Lalezar theaters is to control the quality of performances and monitor the financial flow of these shows. A month later, with the presence of government representatives in the theaters and a strict audit, Lalezar theater was closed forever after the revolution.

The flow of commercial theaters with revolutionary themes began in June 1358. Most of the actors and directors working in Iranian cinema, theater and television were unemployed and recluses after the victory of the revolution. The closure of performing arts production centers and the lack of production and distribution criteria in cinema and television had caused the production of films and series to reach the minimum possible number.
