Manouchehr Valizadeh Tehrani (July 24, 1944 – March 1, 1403) was an Iranian voice actor, actress, and presenter. He gained recognition for his work in dubbing, lending his voice to iconic characters such as Lucky Luke and Michael Scofield in the television series Prison Break. Additionally, he provided the Persian voice for renowned Hollywood actors, including Tom Hanks, John Travolta, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Nicolas Cage, Jason Statham, Jim Carrey, Will Smith, Eddie Murphy, Robert Wagner, and Elvis Presley. Prior to the Iranian Revolution, Valizadeh also appeared in several films, further expanding his presence in the entertainment industry.
Early Life and Education
Manouchehr Valizadeh Tehrani was born on July 24, 1944, in Bushehri Alley, located between Lalehzar and Saadi Streets in Tehran. Coming from a modest background, he described his family as financially struggling. His father worked as a warehouseman for the telephone company in South Saadi, and their family resided in the small courtyard of the warehouse, which contained two rooms. Valizadeh attended Adib School until the second year of elementary school before continuing his education at Borzoiyeh School in the Arab neighborhood of Nasser Khosrow Street. During his school years, he took great pride in being a student of Hassan Nirzadeh, a well-respected teacher.
Valizadeh’s interest in theater began at the age of nine. Following his father’s retirement, he took on a job as an office worker at the telephone company for three years. His entry into the world of voice acting was facilitated by Parviz Bahadur, a radio announcer, who offered him the opportunity to narrate a line in the Italian film “Nero and Messalina.” This experience ignited his passion for acting and voice work, leading him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
