In a notable appearance on the “Haft” program, he was asked why he did not participate in the popular historical series “Mokhtarnameh.” His candid response—”I did not want to act in this series, because I do not accept the character of Mokhtar at all and I think he did not have the right character”—stirred controversy. Nevertheless, his honesty was appreciated by many who admired his integrity and personal conviction.
