Kassabi quickly found a place in this new environment. For two years, he served as the head of the radio drama unit, a position that involved both managerial responsibilities and artistic contributions. He also worked as a radio announcer, a role that showcased his voice, articulation, and presence.
One of the first significant plays staged after the revolution was the work of a student group from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, in which Kassabi participated. This play, Nehdat Harufiyeh, written by Shahid Hossein Qashqai and directed by Davud Daneshvar, went on stage at Tehran’s City Theater in Farvardin 1358. It symbolized a new era of cultural production and artistic reorientation.
Institution Building: A Founder and Organizer of Art
Early in 1358, Kassabi joined a group of friends to establish the Islamic Thought and Art Center, which later became known simply as the “Art Center.” His role in founding the Ministry of Guidance’s Center for Performing Arts further illustrates his commitment not only to performing but to shaping the structural foundations of Iranian artistic activity.
