The gathering also served as an opportunity to highlight the long-standing presence and contributions of the Muslim community within Ukraine. Community leaders noted that Muslims—including many from the Crimean Tatars and other ethnic groups—have played an active role not only in defending the country but also in supporting humanitarian efforts since the start of the war.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths. In his remarks, he spoke about the importance of mutual respect among religious communities and praised Muslim volunteers, soldiers, doctors, and aid workers who have helped support civilians affected by the conflict.
