According to Ukrainian officials, many Muslim organizations have been deeply involved in providing food, shelter, medical assistance, and evacuation support for families displaced by the war. Leaders of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People also addressed the audience, reminding attendees of the continuing challenges faced by Crimean Tatars living under Russian occupation in Crimea.
They stressed that the community continues to preserve its culture, language, and religious traditions despite ongoing political pressure. The Ramadan gathering, they said, sends a message that those living in occupied territories have not been forgotten.
