Turkish Journalists React to Tabriz Airstrike: Civilian Losses, Media Witness Accounts, and Rising Tensions

Introduction

In a deeply emotional and politically charged visit, a group of Turkish journalists, civil society members, and social activists traveled to Tabriz to witness the aftermath of a recent airstrike in the Zafaranieh neighborhood. The visit, which took place on Farvardin 15, 1405 (April 2026), brought international attention to civilian casualties and the human cost of escalating conflict in the region.

The delegation reportedly shed tears as they stood among the ruins of a residential home destroyed during the strike. The victims—Habib, Mahan, and Mahour Alizadeh—were identified as civilians who lost their lives in the attack.
