Majid Qanad was born on 25 July 1955 in either Shadegan or Khorramshahr, two cities located in Iran’s Khuzestan Province. Different published sources mention different birthplaces, but both cities are closely connected with his early life.
Growing up in southern Iran, Qanad experienced a culturally rich environment that would later influence his creative work. During his childhood, Iranian radio and television were rapidly developing, providing opportunities for talented young people interested in performing arts. Like many artists of his generation, he became interested in theatre before moving into television.
Although relatively little has been publicly documented about his family background and childhood experiences, it is clear that his early interest in performance and storytelling laid the foundation for his future career. His passion for entertaining young audiences would become the defining characteristic of his professional life.
