Changes Following the 1979 Revolution
The Iranian Revolution of 1979 brought major political, social, and cultural changes to the country. Educational institutions were also affected by these changes. Many schools and organizations underwent changes in their names, structures, and administration. Razi High School was among the institutions whose name changed during this period.
For a time after the revolution, the school was known as Shohada. The change reflected the broader transformation of Iranian society during the years following the revolution. The names of many institutions were reconsidered, and names associated with historical, religious, revolutionary, or national themes became more common.
However, after several years, the school’s original connection with Zakaria Razi was restored, and the institution once again became known as Razi High School. The restoration of the name can be understood as a continuation of the school’s historical identity. Although the institution had passed through significant political and administrative changes, its association with education and scientific knowledge remained central.
