Despite her importance during her period of activity, information about Rouhparvar’s personal life and later years is limited, and accounts of her death are contradictory. This uncertainty has contributed to the difficulty of establishing a completely consistent biography. Different sources and recollections provide different explanations for what happened to her after the Iranian Revolution of 1979.
One account claims that Rouhparvar left Iran after the Revolution and moved to Turkey. According to this version of events, she eventually died there in 1991. This account has sometimes circulated in discussions of her life, contributing to uncertainty about the date and location of her death.
Another account gives a very different explanation. According to this version, Rouhparvar remained in Iran and died as a result of a missile strike on her home during the Iran-Iraq War. The Iran-Iraq War, which lasted from 1980 to 1988, subjected many Iranian cities and civilians to bombardment and missile attacks. Tehran itself experienced periods of missile attacks, particularly during the later years of the conflict. For this reason, stories about the deaths of civilians during the war can sometimes be difficult to document conclusively, particularly when memories and later accounts differ.
