Andy and Behrouz Vossoughi visited an art exhibition

Behrouz Vossoughi entered the Iranian film industry during an era when commercial cinema was expanding rapidly. His early work included collaborations with filmmaker Samuel Khachikian, particularly in Toofan dar Shahre Ma, as well as an appearance in Abbas Shabaviz’s Gole Gomshodeh in 1962.

These initial performances helped him gain experience and establish professional relationships within the entertainment industry.

During the early stages of his career, Iranian cinema was dominated by popular melodramas, romantic stories, and action-oriented productions. Although these films attracted large audiences, a new generation of directors was beginning to explore more realistic storytelling and socially relevant themes.

Vossoughi eventually became closely associated with this transformation.

His distinctive appearance, expressive eyes, controlled movements, and emotionally intense acting style distinguished him from many contemporary performers. Rather than relying entirely on dialogue, he frequently communicated his characters’ emotions through facial expressions, silence, and physical gestures.

These qualities would become essential elements of his cinematic identity.
