The first director of Evin Prison who was assassinated

Mohammad Kachoi (1329–1366) was a member of the Islamic Coalition Party and the first head of Evin Prison after the Islamic Revolution. He was killed by the People’s Mujahideen Organization on July 8, 1360. In order to honor him, the Islamic Republic named a prison in Karaj after him, and because of his role in the rehabilitation of political prisoners, he is referred to as the father of prisoners. Life and activities before the revolution After finishing sixth grade, he dropped out of school due to the family’s economic situation and started working in a bookbinding workshop in the market.
