Parviz Fanizadeh (February 27, 1937 – March 25, 1979) was one of Iran’s most respected theater, film, and television actors. Known for his remarkable talent and dedication, he made a lasting contribution to Iranian performing arts during a career that spanned nearly two decades.
Before entering the entertainment industry, Fanizadeh worked as a typesetter and proofreader for the Etelaat newspaper. In 1959, he began studying dramatic arts and, together with several friends, founded the Gol Sorkh Theater Group. His passion for acting led him to join the Pasargad Group, where he further developed his theatrical skills. In 1966, he became a member of the Dramatic Arts Department, allowing him to expand his work in professional theater.
Fanizadeh gained widespread recognition for his performances in both theater and cinema. In 1973, he received the Best Actor Award at the Sefaat Film Festival for his outstanding role in the film Ragbar. Throughout his career, he appeared in more than 19 films, including Gav, Tangsir, and Gozenha. He also performed in approximately 70 stage productions, with Pahlevan Akbar Mimired being among his most celebrated theatrical works. His popularity reached an even greater level through his memorable performances in the television series Sultan Saheb-e-Qoran and Daei-jan Napoleon, which remain classics of Iranian television.
