History

The Paykan is the first Iranian made car produced by Iran Khodro between 1967 and 2005. The car was very popular in Iran from its introduction until its discontinuation. It is often colloquially referred as the Iranian chariot.

Seyyed Reza Firoozabadi (1254 – 1344) was a politician, cleric and philanthropist, a four-term member of the National Assembly and the founder of Firoozabadi Hospital in Rey.

Soleyman Vaseghi (Soley) was born in Tehran in 1946. His love of music and extraordinary voice were remarkable even from his early years. At the age of 20 his performing career began, practicing a wide variety of vocal styles.

Ma’soumeh Dadehbala was born on 10 April 1942  and was the elder sister of the singer Mahasti.Her professional career began in 1968 as a singer on a Persian traditional music program in Radio Tehran called “Golhâye Rangârang” directed by Davoud Pirnia.

The Iran–Iraq War was a protracted armed conflict that began on 22 September 1980 when Iran was invaded by neighbouring Iraq. The war lasted almost eight years, ending in a stalemate on 20 August 1988 when Iran accepted a UN-brokered ceasefire.

Haj Ali Razmara (30 March 1901 – 7 March 1951) was a military leader and prime minister of homeland.He was assassinated by 26-year-old Khalil Tahmassebi of the Fadayan-e Islam organization outside the Shah Mosque in capital at the age of 49.

In 1967 French French Rock Star Johnny Hallyday and then wife Sylvie Vartan visited Imperial Iran and performed in Tehran for the Royal Family. Sylvie Vartan revisited Iran in 1977 and performed again in front of Iran’s royals as well as the French speaking Iranian community.
