Fereydoon Foroughi (1951 – 2001) He contributed greatly to persian music and arts and his unique voice and style soon caught on with the people. In addition to his studies in acting, playing the guitar, piano and organ he also composed music. His style was inspired by jazz and blues. He started his professional work in 1971 with the film “Adamak” by Khosrow Haritash. “Adamak” was done by Touraj Shaabankhani and the vocals were by Foroughi.
Despite facing obstacles, Foroughi never compromised his artistic vision. He once famously conveyed, through his music and interviews, that an artist’s duty is to express truth and emotion, even if it comes with personal or professional risk. This integrity is one reason his music continues to resonate so strongly. Fereydoon Foroughi’s music has not only survived decades of social and political change but has grown in popularity posthumously.
