Fereydoon Foroughi (1951 – 2001) He contributed greatly to persian music and arts and his unique voice and style soon caught on with the people. In addition to his studies in acting, playing the guitar, piano and organ he also composed music. His style was inspired by jazz and blues. He started his professional work in 1971 with the film “Adamak” by Khosrow Haritash. “Adamak” was done by Touraj Shaabankhani and the vocals were by Foroughi.

He retreated from public performances for many years, yet his music persisted, circulating clandestinely among fans. On a personal level, Foroughi was known as a contemplative and introspective artist. He rarely sought the spotlight, letting his music speak for him. Those who knew him described him as deeply empathetic, sensitive, and passionate about his art. Fereydoon Foroughi’s influence onmusic cannot be overstated. He bridged a gap between Persian poetry and contemporary music, inspiring countless artists to experiment with blending traditional and modern sounds.
