Laia Shamsi was the wife of Habibullah Badiei (a musician and violinist) and also a student of teachers such as Abolhasan Saba (an outstanding and well-known music teacher) and Hossein Yahaghi (a composer and conductor). He also acted in movies such as Volgerd (made by Mehdi Reis Firouz), Khursheed Mi Derakhshad (made by Sardar Saker), and All Sinful People (made by Aziz Rafiei).
