In 2007, Nazeri was awarded the Legion of Honor by the French government, and in 2014, he was awarded the Order of the National Knight of Merit. New York Times called him “Iranian Nightingale” .Shahram Nazeri was born in a Kurdish family familiar with music and poetry in Barzeh Damagh (Kermanshah) in Kermanshah. He remembers his pleasant voice from his parents and was introduced to poetry and singing by his mother from a young age. His father also had a soft voice and while familiar with the corners and lines of Iranian music, he also played the three strings. He took advantage of the old style and the singers of that country, especially “Sheikh Dawoodi”, the great singer of that time, and also left his possessions at the disposal of his son.
