After the death of Mustafa Khomeini, Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini took charge of Ruhollah Khomeini’s house and office in Najaf. During his years of residence in Iraq, he met people who helped him in various fields after the victory of the revolution. Among these people, we can mention Mohammad Montazeri, Mohammad Hossein Shariati, and Ardestani. During Ruhollah Khomeini’s exile to Paris Following Ruhollah Khomeini’s exile from Najaf to Paris, Ahmad was with his father. Ruhollah Khomeini stated in his will that Ahmad was the advisor for that trip.
