In a rare move, the Embassy of Israel in Hungary swiftly reacted to the news of Ahmadinejad’s visit, expressing outrage and condemnation. Describing his presence in Budapest as an insult to the memory of Holocaust victims, the Embassy issued a scathing statement rebuking the former Iranian president. They highlighted Ahmadinejad’s history of Holocaust denial and anti-Semitic rhetoric, pointing to his inflammatory remarks during the “Review of the Holocaust: Global Vision” conference held in Capital in 2006.
