The Revolution and Its Aftermath
The Iranian Revolution of 1979 brought about significant political and social upheaval. As a police officer, Sudabe was caught in the middle of this tumultuous period. Despite her position within the military system, she respected the will of the people and the changes they sought. However, the revolution also brought about a shift in public perception of the police force, leading to a sense of disillusionment and heartbreak for Sudabe.
The revolution’s aftermath left Sudabe with a difficult decision: to stay in Iran or seek a better life elsewhere. In 1983, at the age of 31, she chose to emigrate, leaving behind her homeland and embarking on a journey that would eventually lead her to the United States.
