Fereydon Shahbazian was born on June 21, 1321, into a family with a deep appreciation for art and music. Encouraged and guided by his father, Hossein Shahbazian, a distinguished violinist and conductor who was a student of the renowned Abolhassan Saba, Fereydon developed an early interest in music. This nurturing environment played a pivotal role in shaping his future as one of Iran’s most significant musical figures.
Early Education and Training
Fereydon’s formal musical education began at the High Music Conservatory, where he studied the violin under the guidance of Attaullah Khadem Mithaq. Recognizing his potential, Mithaq introduced him to the Russian violinist Serge Khotsev, with whom Shahbazian studied until completing elementary school. His dedication to mastering the violin led him to evening classes under the tutelage of Luigi Passanari, the concertmaster of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra at the time. Shahbazian’s determination and talent earned him a diploma in violin performance, marking the beginning of a long and illustrious career in music.
