The 43rd Fajr International Theater Festival: A Grand Opening
The opening ceremony of the 43rd Fajr International Theater Festival was held under the direction of Khairullah Taghianipour at the Noor Hayat Hotel in Tehran. The event was graced by the presence of Nadre Rezaei, Deputy Artistic Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, along with numerous theater managers and artists. The Fajr International Theater Festival stands as one of Iran’s most significant theatrical events, held annually during the decade of Fajr in the month of Bahman. This highly anticipated festival features various sections, including stage performances, international showcases, radio shows, and street performances.
Organizational Structure and Leadership
The festival is orchestrated by several key organizations, including the Performing Arts Center of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the Performing Arts Association of Iran, and the International Theater Institute. The festival secretariat is based in Tehran and works under the supervision of the Policy Council, which includes high-ranking officials such as the Deputy of Artistic Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the Governor of Tehran, the Head of the General Department of Performing Arts, the Chairman of the Cultural Commission of the Islamic Council, and other influential figures in the cultural and artistic sectors of Iran. The current secretary of the festival is Hossein Musafir Astana.
