The Country’s First Hospital Garden
One of the first things that captures visitors’ attention at Aminabad Psychiatric Hospital is its sprawling 103-hectare area, enriched by a stunning garden filled with towering pine, ash, and poplar trees. Recognizing the therapeutic potential of this lush environment, Dr. Rezaei has conceptualized an innovative project: the “Aminabad Hospital Garden.”
“We have ample space to develop a healing environment for our patients,” he explained. “Despite the hospital’s official name change to Razi, the brand of Aminabad is well-established among the public, so we will continue to build on that legacy.”
A core component of this initiative is the development of specialized gardens tailored to different patient groups. These include:
- Marefat Garden: Designed as an elderly-friendly space to promote relaxation and social interaction.
- Talab Garden: A designated area for children, offering a safe and nurturing environment for young patients.
- Friends’ Hangout & Relaxation Station: A communal space where patients can unwind and socialize in a serene atmosphere.
Dr. Rezaei also envisions extending these green spaces for public use, potentially designing a walkway that allows visitors to experience the therapeutic benefits of the hospital’s gardens.
