His passion for performance appeared early in life. Interested in storytelling, humor, and stage performance, Abdi sought formal artistic education. He became a student at the School of Arts and Literature affiliated with the Iranian Broadcasting Corporation, where he learned the fundamentals of acting, voice control, movement, and television performance.

He also studied at the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Adolescents under the supervision of Hassan Dadshekar. This educational experience played an important role in shaping his artistic approach and introduced him to creative methods of acting that later became evident throughout his career.

Beginning of an Artistic Career

After completing his education, Abdi entered the performing arts through amateur theatrical productions. His artistic career officially began in 1979 when he started appearing in amateur performances shortly after receiving his diploma. These early years allowed him to gain valuable stage experience and gradually build confidence as a performer.

In 1982 he joined Iranian television, where he participated in various entertainment and dramatic productions. Television provided him with the opportunity to showcase his natural comic abilities before a nationwide audience. His performances quickly attracted attention because of his distinctive appearance, expressive body language, and ability to create memorable comedic situations.
