One of the defining characteristics of Abdi’s acting style was his expressive face. During the 1980s, Abdi collaborated with several of Iran’s most respected directors. These collaborations enabled him to broaden his acting experience and demonstrate that he possessed talents extending far beyond comedy.
He worked with filmmaker Naser Taghvaei, whose films often explored social and cultural themes with realism and artistic sophistication. He also collaborated with Ali Hatami, celebrated for his historical dramas and poetic storytelling. Another important partnership came with Dariush Mehrjui, one of Iran’s most internationally acclaimed directors, whose works examined complex human relationships and contemporary Iranian society.
Working alongside such distinguished filmmakers allowed Abdi to refine his acting techniques and gain valuable professional experience.
