He had also been hit by a bullet in his right arm, which could not have been the cause of his death.3. The third dead person, student Ahmad Ghandchi, died by a bullet that had entered his body through the abdomen and destroyed his internal organs.

The university’s role in the ceremony was also significant. Tehran University, founded in the 1930s, had quickly become a centerpiece of modernization efforts, representing a bridge between  intellectual life and Western academic traditions. By awarding Nixon an honorary degree, the university placed itself at the intersection of academia and diplomacy, projecting an image as a progressive, internationally engaged nation.
