He has three gold medals in the Asian Games in 1966, 1970 and 1974. He set 15 world records, including 10 records in doubles, 3 records in press and 2 records in total. In 1995, he entered the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame. Nasiri started weightlifting at the age of 13. He mostly participated in the weight category of 56 kg, but for the 1973 World Championship in Havana, he reduced his body weight to 52 kg, and because he was 100 grams overweight, he did not have a chance to lose weight.
