Ahmad Khomeini was the representative of the leadership in the Supreme National Security Council for two consecutive periods from 1368 until his death. He was also a member of the Expediency Council. In an interview that was published on March 21, 1373 (the day of his stroke and four days before his death), he had harsh critical words about the country’s situation in a conversation with Omid weekly:
Weakness in management and flight safety causes the successive crashes of civil and military passenger planes, and the news of the crash of another plane is still being published, compounded by the news of the Fokker plane crash and the sky not drying up. Is this also an American conspiracy? (In the years 1971 to 1973, there were six air accidents in Iran, and an average of 50 people were killed in each accident).
