Establishment of the Police Force 110
One of Momeni’s most notable contributions to the police force was his role in establishing Police 110, a rapid-response unit designed to handle emergencies and maintain public order. Police 110 became an integral part of Homeland’s law enforcement system, and Momeni’s involvement in its creation marked a significant achievement in his career.
Momeni’s leadership in the police force extended beyond the creation of Police 110. He also served as the commander of the police force in Khorasan province, a position that further expanded his influence and responsibilities. Khorasan, a region with a complex socio-political landscape, required strong and effective leadership, and Momeni’s tenure as commander helped stabilize the area during a critical period.
National Responsibilities and Recognition
Iskandar Momeni’s provincial roles eventually expanded to national responsibilities, reflecting his growing importance in Iran’s security apparatus. In 2003, he became the head of the 110 police emergency center, a position he held for a year. During this time, Momeni focused on enhancing the effectiveness and responsiveness of the police force, particularly in dealing with emergencies and maintaining public order.
