Transition to Los Angeles
In 1356 (1977), Amir Rasaei’s career took a significant turn when he signed a contract with Ahmad Masoud, the director of Tehran Cabaret in Los Angeles. The contract was initially for three months, during which Rasaei was to perform at the grand opening of the cabaret. At the time, he was performing at the Bacara Cabaret in Iran alongside Haideh, another legendary figure in Iranian music.
Rasaei’s move to Los Angeles marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career. After traveling from Iran to New York and then to Los Angeles, his contract was extended from three months to six months, and subsequently renewed every three months. The success of his performances in Los Angeles led him to establish a more permanent presence in the United States. He purchased a house in Los Angeles and continued performing at the Tehran Cabaret until 1359 (1980).
